INQ Mobile and foursquare Announce New Collaboration

Thanks to a partnership unveiled at TechCrunch Disrupt, one of the first “Facebook phones” to arrive on the scene may also be an unofficial “foursquare phone”.INQ and foursquare announced a special new collaboration this morning which will see the check-in service prominently displayed on the INQ Cloud Touch. Users of this and other INQ devices will be able easily swipe between Facebook and foursquare home pages. This deeper integration comes as a result of using foursquare’s API which gives consumers home screen access to recommended places to eat, shop, and more.

“The foursquare experience on INQ is all about engaging a customer to really explore and discover interesting places. First, we’re looking to make it really easy for a consumer to discover and sign up to foursquare itself, via the start-up sequence. Then we’re taking foursquare’s great knowledge of the world around you and visualizing that on your home screen, enabling you to explore events, restaurants, clubs, etc. and even bookmark places in a to-do list.” – Frank Meehan, INQ’s CEO (press release)
