Lenovo today announced three new Android-powered tablets, putting them on track for release in China presumably over the next few weeks and months. Although the exact dates and prices were not part of the announcement, we do know the general specifications of each model. If history is any indication these will be lower cost devices that may ultimately make their way stateside in a limited manner.
The new models are the 5-inch LePad S2005, 7-inch S2007, and 10-inch S2010, each of which include dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processors.
LePad S005 features:
- Android 2.3
- 5-inch display
- Dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S3 processor
- 1GB memory
- 5-megapixel rear camera
- 1.3-megapixel front camera
- Connectivity to China Unicom’s 4G HSPA+ network
LePad S2007 features
- Android 3.2
- 7-inch IPS display (1280×800 resolution)
- Dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S3 processor
- 1GB memory
- 1.3-megapixel camera
- 8 hours battery life over WiFi connectivity
- Connectivity to China Unicom’s “telecom and 3G dual-network.”
LePad S2010 features
- Android 3.2
- 10-inch IPS display (1280×800 resolution)
- Dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S3 processor
- 1GB memory
- 1.3-megapixel camera
- 11 hours battery life over WiFi connectivity
- Connectivity to China Unicom’s “telecom and 3G dual-network.”
Well have to wait for pricing and international details however Engadget Chinese suspects that the LePad S2005 could be available in the next few days. Whereas the specs are not necessarily top of the line we are anxious to see where the price falls for these tablets.
