ZTE and MetroPCS are poised to launch the ZTE Score M. The device will be the regional carrier’s first ZTE Android device, and will come with some low-end specs that include Gingerbread, a 3.2MP rear camera, 3.5-inch HVGA TFT screen, 600 MHz processor, 4GB of internal memory, MicroSD expansion up to 32GB, Bluetooth 2.1, and WiFi b/g. Lixin Cheng, the CEO of ZTE USA, had this to say about the release:

There is an increasing number of consumers that see how the functionality of a smartphone will enhance their lives, but still may not be prepared to commit fully to a costly device. Working with MetroPCS to offer these customers the ZTE Score M will allow them to have the smartphone experience at an incredible value.”

So the Score M isn’t going to blow anyone away, but at $49 after a mail-in rebate, it’s easy to see that they’re not aiming for the wealthier MetroPCS customers. So, is anyone on MetroPCS thinking about grabbing this budget-friendly Android device? Drop a comment below!

  1. Hopefully! I have the LG Optimus M and I am desperate for a Gingerbread device! And this device seems to be the one!
