Earlier today we brought you news that according to Chen Xudong, Lenovo’s Mobile Chief, Lenovo would be getting rid of the Moto E and Moto G lines. Since purchasing Motorola, Lenovo has said they’re going to be paring down how many phones they’re going to be offering, but it was a bit odd that one on the chopping block would be Motorola’s most popular phone ever.
Seems now that this information may have come out due to a mistranslation of a Chinese interview.
Motorola reached out today to let us know that the Moto E and Moto G would in fact NOT be going away. While Motorola and Lenovo will be “simplifying the combined Motorola and Vibe portfolio, we have no plans to retire Moto G, our most successful smartphone, or Moto E.” This is great news for consumers as the Moto E and Moto G offer some of the best bang-for-your-buck around.
