NookColor Gets Easier to Root with Auto-Nooter

Ahh, rooting. What was once a complicated and tedious process has become as simple as one-click rooting, or in this case, Auto-Nooter. Yeah, it’s a funny name, but it’s a useful tool if you’ve got a NookColor. Thanks to the guys over at XDA (mainly a user named Gabrial Destruir), Rooting your NookColor has never been simpler. It streamlines the rooting process by giving the user a slew of things, like:

  • SU and Superuser.apk
  • SoftKeys 2.0.2
  • Google apps, such as GMail, Youtube, Android Market, and Calendar
  • Enables multitouch for Android applications
  • Enables live wallpapers (Dark Holiday, anyone?)
  • Installs Busybox
  • Installs NookColor Tools, which enables non-market apps
  • And enables Auto app install, which appears to be a way of installing apps from the SD card

Looking at the instructions, this isn’t as simple as installing an apk and taking off with your rooting desires. This process isn’t for the faint of heart or anyone that has trouble following directions. It requires patience and know-how. If you think you’ve got what it takes, head on over to the Auto-Nooter XDA thread and good luck!
