Remember the days when you had to press and hold your screen to view images on Snapchat? Well, of course, you do – because until yesterday that’s how things worked at the self-destructing photo sharing app. Not anymore! Now, you can simply tap once to view images and stories shared by your friends on Snapchat.
[blockquote author=””]Simply Tap to View! This means no more tired thumbs while watching a several-hundred-second story… and a little getting used to for anyone who has been Snapchatting for a while. We think you’re going to love it![/blockquote]
Only issue I see with this new system is that it is going to make it a lot easier for my friends to take screenshots of my snaps!
Snapchat has also added a new feature, ‘Add Nearby’, that will make it even easier to add all of your friends on Snapchat.
[blockquote author=””]Add Nearby is (also) a quick way to add a group of friends when you’re all hanging out together. If everyone opens Add Nearby, a list of your friends will appear on the screen. Just tap to add[/blockquote]
To make it easier for you to add friends, the social networking app now lets you add a selfie to the center of your Snapcode. This way, friends can recognize you when you send them an add request.
To add friends through Snapcode, all you have to do is take a screenshot of your Snapcode and send it to your friends. Then they take the image to Snapchat where it will process the Snapcode and add you as their friend without the need to fumble around with usernames!
Last on Snapchat’s list of new features is a two-factor authentication. They don’t have much to say about this one, but it is pretty self explanatory. Enjoy the extra security on your Snapchat account!
