NVIDIA Shield arrives tomorrow (July 31)

Just a quick heads up to remind you all that the NVIDIA Shield arrives online and in retailers around the country starting tomorrow, July 31. Priced at $299, the gaming and entertainment device packs a Tegra 4 processor and features a stock Android Jelly Bean experience.

SHIELD will be shipping to customers with preorders. It’s also available for $299 at NVIDIA.com or Newegg.com, or at a SHIELD Experience Center in select GameStop, Microcenter, Canada Computer locations in the U.S. and Canada.

We’ve had a few encounters with the Shield and have been thoroughly impressed with the design, gameplay, and overall package. To be fair, we’ll have to reserve final judgment until we’ve had extensive time with the Shield.

With more than 100 games ready to go with Shield’s hardware button optimization there’s plenty to rope in gamers. Thanks to a 5-inch display and HDMI output, it’s perfect for in the car, office, or on that 55-inch TV in the family room.
