Official App for Google Docs Finally Hits Android

After what seems like an eternity of waiting, Google has released an official Google Docs application for Android devices.  Available for anything running 2.1 or higher, the native app provides simple and effective management of your cloud-based documents.  Options include creating new documents, spreadsheets, and images as well as uploading and converting files from other formats.  Sharing is somewhat limited in capacity at this point as it only works with your device’s contacts but we imagine an update or two down the road and we’ll have the same functionality as the desktop experience.

We really like the idea of taking a picture of an item and converting it to a Google Doc.  Receipts, business cards, and notes can now get placed in the same place as you drop your spreadsheets and notes.

As with pretty much anything affiliated with Google, this application is free to enjoy!
