OnePlus has gone through many ups and downs since it released the One this past April. Most of the issues they’ve had have been their own doing, but recently a ban was placed on the OnePlus One to sell in India because CyanogenMod had signed an exclusivity deal with Mircomax. Well due to a decision made today, OnePlus can sell again in India temporarily.

It was decided that Micromax targets the low-end market, whereas the OnePlus One targets the high-end market. So until they can take the case back to the judge who initially placed the ban, OnePlus can sell their One to India. Then, it all depends on whether or not OnePlus can convince the judge to let them continue sales in India.

However even if they can continue sales in India, the exclusivity agreement between CyanogenMod and Micromax still holds, which will keep OnePlus One owners from upgrading their devices. To be honest, it was kind of a low blow for CyanogenMod to have signed this agreement with Micromax when they already had a working arrangement with OnePlus. Such is business I suppose.

For those who were wanting a OnePlus One in India, you should act now before the case is taken back to the judge, as the ban may be placed again.
