OnePlus OxygenOS is now officially available for the One smartphone after a long wait. OnePlus made the announcement on their blog that One users can download the OxygenOS ROM and flash it on the One manually. They also mentioned that they are working on an easier way to port the update to the One but for now, flashing is the only option.
Earlier this year, OnePlus announced the OxygenOS as they decided to move away from CyanogenMod. Later, they were joined by the team of developers behind Paranoid Android who helped them creating an amazing operating system. OxygenOS is based on Android 5.0.2, and it will bring some great features to the One. OnePlus says that they care more about performance and battery life, rather than stuffing the interface with bloatware. They also mentioned that they like to keep it ‘light and essential’.
