We’re huge fans of games that are easy to learn but darn near impossible to put down. A simple premise and high replay value will often win out over 3D graphics and immerse story lines – we’d rather play that stuff on an X-BOX 360 or PS3. With that being the case, we were only too excited to learn of a pair of new tablet-optimized games out of the Platinum Apps camp.
Hitting the Android Market last week, Platinum Air Hockey lets players play the tabletop classic across a variety of boards and difficulty settings. Available in free and paid versions, the $1.07 US is totally worth it, removing ads and adds in a two-player mode over Wi-Fi connections. According to the game’s description in the Market, the current price is a 50% discount and will be going back up soon.
The other game, Platinum Pong, is a gorgeous throwback to the game that’s likely to be older than most of our readers. Featuring multiple board types and difficulty settings, this guy also offers 1-player, 2-player, and 2-player over Wi-Fi. If you’ve got a Honeycomb tablet and $1.07 to spare, then you’ll be glad you downloaded this all time favorite.
