Project Tango Tablet

The Project Tango Tablet Development Kit has quietly appeared on the Google Play Store, at a whopping price tag as well. The tablet that was unveiled at the Google I/O developer conference this year, is sold as is with no warranty, and will run you $1,024. That may sound like a lot of money to cough up for a tablet, but it definitely comes with cutting edge technology to back it up.

Project Tango comes with customized hardware and software designed to track full three-dimensional motion which in-turn can capture the geometry of the environment. While that may sound a little useless at the moment, it is capable of great things. such as helping the visually impaired. Google has been working with universities, research labs, and industrial partners around the world to bring this project to life, and it is getting closer to reality.
