Rdio has begun offering their consumers a new ad-free, on-demand service today, a first in the music space. Available immediately, the new plan provides users access to more than 12 million songs with fully personalized profile and music collection. Customers will find that they can listen to the ad-free music through the web browser directly after logging in with an email address or Facebook account.

It’s worth noting that this is not a full-on unlimited access deal, rather it allows for a certain amount of metered music each month. At any given point, the user can check to see how much remains and/or upgrade to a paid plan starting at $4.99 per month.

We’d like to see this feature come to the Android app but we’re not complaining in the meanwhile.
