OrangePixel released an Android version of their popular Super Drill Panic earlier this week, to the delight of casual gamers everywhere.  The retro title with old school graphics, sound, and game play is easy to pick up and terribly difficult to put down.  The premise is simple, outrun the massive boulder chasing you while grabbing treasures and and power-ups.  Think Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark) with Legend of Zelda graphics and you’re on the right path.

The game uses your accelerometer and has you tipping your phone left to right as your character (Adventurer or Thief) drops to the bottom of the screen.  There are six temples to complete with five levels in each for a total of 30 levels.  OpenFeint integration means you can save progress to play on another device or post scores to cross-platform leaderboards.

Super Drill Panic is available in free (ad-supported) and paid ($2.29) versions and works on any Android device with 1.6 or higher.  Yes, tablets too!
