Today, Samsung has unveiled their latest tablet the Galaxy Tab S4 with Dex support. Ever trying to bridge the gap between tablet and PC, the Galaxy Tab S4 is the first tablet to include Dex. When connected to the optional keyboard dock the Tab S4 will switch from tablet to desktop mode.

Getting more done with desktop mode

After transitioning to the desktop mode you can open apps in windows, resize them, and even drag and drop content between apps. Thanks to this, multitasking and getting work done becomes much easier.

If you need more screen real estate you can extend the screen by using a USB-C to HDMI adapter. The Tab S4 then provides you with the flexibility to be used as a mouse or sketch pad with the included S-Pen. The S-Pen can also be used to take notes with screen off memo, translate notes with Samsung Notes, or create live messages.

Less bezel, more screen

The new Galaxy Tab S4 shares a similar footprint with the Tab S3 but thanks to the slimmer bezels you still get a 10.5-inch screen. The Super AMOLED display now comes in a 16:10 aspect ratio with a 2560×1600 resolution making it perfect for watching movies. Speaking of movies, the Galaxy Tab S4 includes 4 speakers tuned by AKG with Dolby Atmos sound. This ensures you get the most immersive and highest quality audio experience.

Whether you’re working or in the mood to watch movies the battery life is important. What good is a tablet if you can’t finish your big project or it dies in the middle of a movie? That’s where the large 7,300mAh battery comes in, it allows for up to 16 hours of video playback.

One of the biggest changes to the Galaxy Tab S4 is the removal of the fingerprint scanner. According to the specifications, there is an included iris scanner. This is sure to be similar to the ones found on Samsung’s other phones and appears to have sent the fingerprint scanner packing.
