Since the Galaxy S5 LTE-A’s update to Android 5.0.1 was successful,  Samsung is going to be updating two of its premier phablets and skipping Android 5.0 altogether. Yes according to a press release from Samsung, The Galaxy Note 4 and its brother The Galaxy Edge will receive the later upgraded version of Lollipop.

When will it happen? There’s been no word about a timeframe when this will happen. It would be a nice Christmas present if we received it next week, or best way to ring in the New Years. We can probably guesstimate it to somewhere within the first quarter of 2015. As a Note 4 user, I am quite excited about it. But until that update happens, enjoy this short video that shows a Note 4 with Lollipop!

  1. So because we are going to get 5.01 instead of 5.0, thatthat means that we have to wait longer. Just give us the 5.0 and let us worry about getting that other newer update. Let us decide if it bothers us or not. I’d rather get it at 5.0 now rather than 5.01 later. Please.
