Today, Samsung announced two unique Android devices: the Galaxy Player 4″ and 5″. These two devices add to the Galaxy product line up to directly rival the Apple iPod Touch. Both will do most of things you expect from a phone-sized Android device: games, music, web browsing, and of course taking pictures. But neither are actually phones.
The two Galaxy Players offer both front facing VGA quality cameras and rear facing 3.2M cameras (no word on HD video capture). Both devices are Flash-ready with Android 2.2 Froyo and will be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Since these are media devices, lets talk storage: both the 4″ and 5″ Galaxy Players come with 8gb built in storage and have micro sd slots that can handle up to a 32gb chip. The full specs:

Looking at Samsung’s track record, lets hope these devices can receive their 2.3 updates ASAP. Also, with no word of ram or processor, do you think they went dual core or stayed with their single core Hummingbird processor? No word yet on pricing or launch date, so cross your fingers for a quick launch and affordable pricing.
