As many of you likely know Apple this week launched their new flagship smartphone, the iPhone 5S. As the first smartphone to feature a 64-bit processor it’s essentially the only smartphone right now with a desktop-class architecture. As Apple tells it, the new iPhone is 56 times faster than its predecessor.

I am sure plenty of Android fans, myself included, are jealous right now because it’s a “first” in the industry. Worry not because Samsung is already on the job.

During an interview with Korea Times, Samsung’s mobile business chief Shin Jong-Kyun said:

“Not in the shortest time. But yes, our next smartphones will have 64-bit processing functionality”.

Hopefully, we will see the Samsung Galaxy S5 with a 64-bit processor, an aluminium body and a powerful 16-MP camera. We will probably see it next year, hopefully at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona or at an Unpacked event in Spring 2014.
