Samsung today introduced the next member of the Galaxy Note family, officially unveiling the Galaxy Note 8.0. As the name implies, the tablet features an 8-inch display, however the finer details include 8” WXGA (1280×800, 189 ppi) resolution.

Powered by Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the Galaxy Note 8.0 also offers a rear 5-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, microdSD expansion card slot (up to 64GB), and 4600 mAh battery. The heavy lifting comes from the 1.6GHz A9 quad-core processor and 2GB RAM and the storage options include 16GB or 32GB.

In terms of software, the Galaxy Note 8.0 includes a slew of S Pen apps and functionality.  All the standard Note apps are present, including S Note, S Planner, Email (with hand-writing integration), Quick Command, Easy Clip, Photo Note, and Paper Artist.

No availability or pricing is known and U.S. details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The GALAXY Note 8.0 will be available from 2Q of 2013 worldwide (EUR, KOR, NA, SEA, SWA, MEA, CHN, TW, LA).
