lg-tribute-duoSprint on Monday announced a pair of LG smartphones for its Sprint Prepaid and Virgin Mobile brands. The LG Tribute 2 and the LG Tribute Duo share a number of hardware and software features. In essence, these are the same overall designs just named differently for the two prepaid arms.

The two handsets are powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop and include custom LG apps Quick Memo, Gesture Shot, and Knock Code. The twosome also offer users a 4.5-inch 854×480 pixel resolution as well as a 1900mAh battery.

Under the hood you’ll also find both devices running on a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The main hardware is a generation or two behind the times, sure, but the price point reflects the aging internals. On a positive note, each is equipped to support the Sprint Spark 4G LTE network for faster data speeds.

The LG Tribute Duo and LG Tribute 2 are sold for $99 through their respective carriers. Sprint Prepaid offers the LG Tribute Duo while the LG Tribute 2 is sold via Virgin Mobile’s Data Done Right plans which are exclusive to Walmart.
