Sprint expected to soon carry its first Sony Xperia smartphone

Sprint will soon introduce its first Sony Xperia smartphone, likely the Xperia Z3, according to recent reports. Expected to launch at IFA next week in Berlin, the Xperia Z3 will be Sony’s latest flagship device.

Features in the handset are rumored to include a 5.15-inch display, 20.7-megapixel rear camera, front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera, and 16GB RAM. Powered by a 2.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, the Xperia Z3 is reported to boast 3GB RAM.

After having only offered their devices in a limited capacity through T-Mobile and Verizon, it’s nice to see Sony tackling the U.S. market a bit more. As to whether it could be enough to help Sprint stem the bleeding of customers, it’s hard to say that one handset is ever enough.
