There does not seem to be much of a marketing campaign going on right now for the Droid 2 Global from Verizon.  Confirmed today though a facebook post, the handset is selling for $299.00 with a $100.00 mail-in rebate card.  The quote from the facebook post:

Now make calls, text, email and browse the web in more than 220 countries with Droid 2 Global. Get it now for $199.99. $299.99 2yr price less $100 mail-in rebate debit card. New 2yr activation and data pak required

There is a link in the facebook post which leads you to a page at droidoes.com, but there is not much more around in the way of publicity for this new handset.  I guess we should not be terribly surprised, since it seems that this has been the modus operandi for Verizon on this phone.

Anyone planning on getting this Android powered handset?  Let us know in the comments.

  2. For this price range it seems to be a pretty good device. I don’t think I’ll buy one, but I’m sure many people will take this low budget option as a Yes.
