TazTag to be first phone with both NFC and ZigBee at MWC

Much hoopla has been made over the magical synergistic qualities of NFC, from payment options to data transfer on Google’s Android 4.0 ICS. ZigBee might be new to most people, but it’s basically a much more advanced and efficient wireless network than anything currently in place, using a whole lot less battery than the traditionally used WiFi. TazTag, a French wireless tech manufacturer, has announced that they are going to be unveiling the TPH-ONE, the very first phone to have both of these technologies built in.

The company hopes that the new device will be an example of the capabilities of both NFC and ZigBee. The TPH-ONE will be available in March for demos, and is available now for pre-order with a set delivery for April.

With that being said, is anyone interested in the TazTag? Where do you see NFC going in the future? Drop a comment below! The full press release can be found after the break.

BRUZ, France, February 20, 2012 – TazTag, the French expert in contactless technologies, confirms its intention to supply the market with a complete range of NFC products and will introduce its latest product, the TPH-ONE, an NFC ANDROID Phone, at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2012.

As predicted, 2012 will be the year of NFC. TazTag, the contactless expert having well understood this market trend decided to fulfill customer requests for smartphones embedding TazTag core technologies and proposes a mobile device providing all characteristics of a smartphone along with NFC, Zigbee, and a Secure Element.

TazTag is proud to present the TPH-ONE, a major step forward with this product designed for consumers, ideally complementing TazTag portfolio already proposing professional oriented devices such as the TazPad and the TazServer.

The TPH-ONE is more than just a new NFC phone. The TPH-ONE possibilities are endless and the only limit is the creativity of solution providers to propose new services as expected by “smart” consumers and professional end users.

The TPH-ONE is available in March as sample and can already be pre-ordered in volumes deliverable in April.

Demonstration at GSMA Mobile World Congress TazTag products will be on display at the MWC, including the TPH-ONE, from February 27 – March 1 at GSMA Mobile World Congress (Barcelona), at the France Pavilion, Hall 2.0 Booth #2F49.
