Many Motorola DROID Turbo owners have been in a dilemma since the release of Android Lollipop, complaining about the fact that their device is still stuck on Android 4.4.4. Since, the release of Android 5.1, there have been numerous rumors about the DROID Turbo receiving the update.
Android 5.1 was supposed to hit the Motorola DROID Turbo in the mid of June, according to reports from a Verizon device engineer last month. Motorola’s Senior Director of Software Product Management, David Schuster shed more light on this in a recent Google+ post stating that the update is still in the works.
Thanks to Verizon’s website, you can get an idea of how the Android 5.1 update will look on your Motorola DROID Turbo. While, it doesn’t update the Android version of your device, it does gives you a feel of what’s to come.
Basically, it’s a simulator to get an experience of the Motorola DROID Turbo. It allows potential customers to get a virtual tour of the device. Recently, the simulator OS has been upgraded to Android 5.1, which means you can now try out all of the features that it offers like browsing or making calls, and get a gist of them all with the upgraded UI.
From the reports that we have seen so far, it’s unlikely the Android 5.1 will be making it to Motorola DROID Turbo soon. However, to help DROID Turbo owners keep patient for the foreseeable future, this droolworthy option is worth checking out.
