U.S. launched a tablet and a smartphone today, both with LTE capablities, and both from Samsung. First is the famous Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G, and it’s not much different from its WiFi cousin: Android 3.2, 10.1 inch display, and TouchWiz UX.

The Samsung Galaxy S Aviator, which looks a lot like the Droid Charge, is packing a 4.3-inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display, runs Android 2.3.6, an 8MP rear camera, a front-facing shooter, and an HDMI port.

The Tab 10.1 is scheduled to hit the shelves in March, whereas the Aviator will be launched in April. The delay in getting some LTE devices out was longer than we expected, but hopefully we’ll start to see more LTE goodies out of U.S. Cellular in the near future.

Gotta say I’m a little disappointed that the first LTE device might just be a re-branded Droid Charge, but then final specs haven’t been announced.  Swap out the CPU for at least a dual core and it starts to compete with the Electrify they already have.  Screen resolution is lower, but the sAMOLED Plus would be worth it.

    Was really considering ditching Sprint and setting up a new family plan with US Cellular on their 4G network, but this has me thinking twice for the time being.
