U.S. Cellular recently began offering a rugged Android smartphone in the form of the Kyocera Duraforce. Powered by rather recent version of Android (4.4.2 KitKat), the handset packs a 4.5-inch 720p display, 16GB internal storage, and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Under the hood we see a 1.4GHz quad-core processor with a very respectable 3100mAh battery.
The real draw of the Duraforce, however, is its rugged body and design. Able to withstand drops, water, dust, dirt, and other elements, the IP68-certified rating will appeal to outdoorsy and clumsy types alike.
The Kyocera Duraforce is available for $99 with a two-year service agreement.
