Uber and Spotify Team Up

Uber riders and Spotify users in 10 cities now have the ability to control the soundtrack of their rides.  If you’re using Uber in London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Nashville, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney or Toronto your favorite playlists and stations are now available for you to stream right through the on-demand taxi service’s car speakers.  Once you have linked the Uber and the Spotify app and selected a ride with a Spotify-enabled Uber, you can start either streaming your own media from Spotify or any featured by Uber.  The roll out started November 21, 2014 and is available only to Uber and Spotify Premium users.  Anyone using Spotify’s free service is out of luck.

What do you think?  Will the marriage of an on-demand taxi and music services survive?
