Verizon announced a new Android 2.3-powered handset today, tapping the LG Enlighten with a $79.99 price tag and a September 29th launch date.  Features for the entry level device include an 800MHz processor, 3.2-inch display, 3.2-megapixel camera, and full-sized sliding QWERTY keyboard.  Given the build of Android, the Enlighten also offers support for 3G Mobile Hotspot and Flash 10, widgets, and all that other fun stuff.  Additional hardware specs include a 2GB microSD card, support for Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), and GPS.

Look for the LG Enlighten online or in a Verizon store near you come September 29th.  The $79.99 price is with qualified two-year service agreements and a $50 mail-in rebate so keep that in mind if you’re thinking of grabbing one.
