And we thought the Droid 2 landed with less than expected fanfare.  Verizon has made the Droid 3 official today, quietly sneaking it onto their website as well as DroidDoes.com.  The Android 2.3 handset runs $199.99 with a two-year service agreement or $459.99 outright.  For those who aren’t familiar, specifications include dual-core 1GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera (1080p video),  a 4-inch qHD display,16GB storage, and a 5-row sliding QWERTY keyboard.  Even without 4G support, we have a hard time saying that this “Globetrotting Goliath” isn’t worth its price.  Be sure to check out Verizon’s website for more information!

Any word on how locked down it is?
Any word on how skinned it is by Motorola? Are we talking Moto/Ninja/Barf-blur or closer to the Droid 1?
