ViewSonic has never really been known for making killer Android tablets, with a history of using older versions of Android on less than spectacular tablets with less than spectacular specs. But it looks like they’re ready to turn that around with the announcement of the ViewPad 7X. Looking at the specs, I’m impressed with ViewSonic. They went all out on this one. The ViewPad 7X features:

  • 7-inch,1024 x 600 LED display
  • Honeycomb (3.0.1)
  • A dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor
  • HSPA+ connectivity (T-Mobile, anyone?)
  • HDMI-out port and DLNA support
  • Rear- and front-facing cameras

There’s no word on a release date as of now, but we’ll keep you posted when we hear something. We also haven’t heard any whispers of a price range, but I expect the ViewPad 7X to be somewhere in the $400-$600 range.
