YouTube Music Key now available for some Google Play Music All Access users

Last week Google took the wraps off the long-rumored YouTube music service, YouTube Music Key. It was said that Google Play Music All Access subscribers would get first crack at using it and trying these features out. It seems some users are reporting that these features have been enabled from the server end, meaning an app update isn’t required. So it’s a good idea if you’re an All Access user to check your YouTube app.

YouTube Music Key allows offline videos, background listening, and ad-free videos

As you can see in the screenshot above, those who have the ability to save videos offline in the YouTube app will see this new section in the slide-out menu. When you tap on it, you get this screen below.

When you go to a video that can be saved offline, you’ll see the option when you play the video, as seen below.

You can also exit the YouTube app and continue listening to music, indicated by the icons in the status bar.

There is no word as to who is getting it and when, however I discovered it just moments ago, and someone else a part of AndroidGuys had this ability last night. So it’s a good idea to check your app now for these features.

For those that do have it what do you think? I personally like the ad-free and offline saving features best, as I have Play Music for background listening. Let us know in the comments below.
