With the launch of the iPhone X and it’s wall-to-wall display and face ID unlock technology, those two features in particular became the in thing – despite Android having facial recognition for a while now and Samsung leading the way in bezel-less smartphones. Determined to ride Apple’s coat-tails, UHANS has made it a priority to bring those technologies to the masses with its new phone, the i8, which launched for pre-order on GeekBuying and will be releasing in the next couple weeks.
The i8 incorporates a 5.7″ bezel-less display and facial recognition technology, though without further details regarding the sensors and tech involved, it’s really tough to determine if this feature is any better or more secure than the existing feature in Android. It also features a MediaTek 6750T octa-core processor, Android 7.0, USB-C charging, a 16/3MP dual-sensor rear camera, 8MP front camera, and a 3500mAh battery.
The i8 is up for pre-order now for $129.99, though the price will go back up to its MSRP of $159.99 once the initial pre-order period has ended. For more information on the i8, head over to UHANS’ website or GeekBuying to pre-order.
