DOOGEE revealed some interesting highlights about the MIX 2 cameras today.
Accompanying what the company is calling a full display 5.99-inch screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio is two front-facing cameras, of which one is a 130° wide angle. Paired with the 8-megapixel super-wide-angle lens is another 8 megapixel camera with 88° wide-angle lens that means you can shoot selfies and capture a wider field of view than most other smartphones.
Many front-facing cameras require the use of a selfie-stick to be held far enough away from the subject to be able to get everything in frame. The DOOGEE MIX 2 wide-angle lens pair means you can capture up to 2-3 people in a single shot at arms length.
You may recall the OPPO F3 featuring a similar wide-angled selfie camera that offered at 120° field of view. DOOGEE have taken this one step further working with its camera supplier and software partner ArcSoft to widen the angle further and incorporate it into a device with a full display.
While details on how the two cameras will interact has not yet been revealed, it is suspected that the DOOGEE MIX 2 will offer the ability to switch seamlessly between the two lenses based on occasion to offer some depth of field post-processing effects.
The device is powered by a MTK Helio P2 and will pack a 4060mAh battery running Android 8.0 Oreo. Accompanying the two front-facing cameras are a 16.0MP+13.0MP double camera in the rear.
DOOGEE MIX 2 is the third product of MIX series, following the DOOGEE MIX and MIX lite. Be sure to check out the DOOGEE website for the company’s current device lineup as well as where to order the MIX 2 when it goes on sale, with price and availability yet to be announced.
