In early October, OUKITEL leaked that they are releasing the world’s first smartphone with a 8000mAh battery, the OUKITEL K8000. OUKITEL seems like it’s on a mission to make the world’s longest-lasting smartphone battery, and it’s well on its way to accomplishing that. To demonstrate just how well, OUKITEL has provided a handy-dandy chart as well as a video showcasing the K8000 when compared to other popular smartphones on the market.

The tests more or less confirm what we already know – that the iPhone 7 Plus doesn’t have great battery life, powering off only three and a half hours into the test. The Xiaomi Mix 2 didn’t fare a whole lot better, at a shade under four hours. The K10000 obviously faired quite a bit better (almost 13 hours!) but the K8000 proved victorious, maintaining battery for over 17 hours before it finally powered down.

The reason for this power discrepancy despite the smaller battery size of the K8000 comes from its MediaTek 6750T octa-core processor and Samsung AMOLED display – which, like all AMOLED screens, only consumes power when the screen is on. Further details on the K8000 are scarce at the moment, but I’m sure we’ll find out more, soon enough.

The OUKITEL K8000 is should arrive by the end of November or early December; for more information, visit OUKITEL’s official website.
