UHANS i8 mimics iPhone X’s facial recognition (Promoted)

UHANS, a brand that we’ve profiled a number of times over the last few months, is one of those brands who delivers budget-friendly alternatives to flagship models from bigger names. Such is the case with one of its most recent handsets, the i8.

Featuring a number of attractive specs, the i8 houses the increasingly popular 18:9 aspect ratio for its 5.7-inch screen. Powered by Android 7.0 Nougat, it draws strength from a MediaTek MT6750T 64-bit octa-core processor with 4GB RAM.

Storage space clocks in at 64GB with an expansion card slot offering room for another 128GB. In terms of cameras, the back delivers a dual-shooter combo with 16-megapixel and 3-megapixel sensors.

Given that the front of the phone is nearly all display, there’s very little room for anything else. However, like you’d expect in a higher end phone, the UHANS i8 packs Face ID recognition, using the front-facing camera.

Similar to how you can add multiple fingerprints for security and access, the handset allows for up to five faces; recognition is alleged to be less than 1/10th of a second (0.1s). The fingerprint sensor is still included and can be found around back.

Let’s take a look at how the facial recognition works for the UHANS i8.
