Chinese electronics manufacturers once again met at the Asia World Expo last week, bringing together China’s best and brightest. The show ran from October 18th-21st, and a number of new smartphones and gadgets were shown off. Among the companies demonstrating was UHANS, displaying five new upcoming devices.
UHANS Max 2
- 6.44″ FDH display
- Full-Metal Unibody
- MT6753T Octa Core processor
- 4/64GB RAM/ROM (expandable)
- 4300mAh battery
- 13+2MP Front & Rear cameras
What most stands out to me about this phone is the two sets of dual-lens cameras, one front and one rear. That means that no matter what camera you’re using, the quality of your pictures will remain constant. A small thing, perhaps, but it means you won’t struggle to find the right settings for your selfies to make them look as good as your landscapes.
UHANS i8
- 5.65″ 18:9 FDH display
- 2.5D glass exterior
- MT6750 Octa-Core processor
- 4/64GB RAM/ROM
- 13MP rear camera
- 8MP front camera
- USB-C charging
Following the growing trend of 18:9, bezel-less screens, UHANS showcased the i8, which while not boasting the most impressive of specifications, is still powerful enough to hold its own in today’s market.
UHANS MX
- 5.2″ HD display
- 2.5D glass
- MTK6580 1.3GHz processor
- 2/16GGB RAM/ROM
- 3000mAh battery
- 8MP rear camera
- 5MP front camera
At first blush, the MX appears to be severely underpowered in today’s market. But given that it’s being marketed by UHANS as the cheapest bezel-less smartphone on the market, I’d expect it to drop with a sub-$150 pricetag. No confirmation on that price yet, but stay tuned.
UHANS K01
- 5″ HD display
- IP68 Ingress Rating
- MTK6753 1.3GHz processor
- 3/32GB RAM/ROM
- 5000mAh battery
- 13MP rear camera
- 5MP front camera
With a 5000mAh battery and a ruggedized, IP68-rated chassis, the K01 will be a great phone to take with you on hikes and the outdoors in general – no word on pricing yet, but the modest specifications seem to indicate in the sub-$200 range.
UHANS Mix 2
- 5.99″ 18:9 FHD display
- 2.5D glass
- MTK6757 1.5GHz processor
- 6/128GB RAM/ROM
- 4000mAh battery
- 16+5MP rear camera
- 8MP front camera
- Android 7.0
Looks like the Mix 2 is poised to be the flagship of the bunch, sporting most of the features of the phones listed above and including a rather impressive 6GB of RAM. Unfortunately there wasn’t much discussed of pricing, but if I had to guess, I’d pin it at the $400 price point.
