Chinese manufacturer UMIDIGI is preparing to launch yet another smartphone series that features the popular notch.
Building on the success of the Z2 family, UMIDIGI plans to introduce the One and One Pro smartphones in the near future. The phones are going to be offered in Carbon Fiber and Twilight, two color options the Z2 Pro will also be sold in.
Indeed, at a glance, the two smartphones series look quite similar. But the UMIDIGI One and One Plus include more middle-range specs.
The new smartphone family adopts a 5.9-inch display with 19:9 aspect ratio which takes up to 90% of the front surface. The phones are designed to be compact and feature a side fingerprint scanner, as well as a dual-speaker stereo sound system.
Mid-range notchy phones are becoming a thing
When it comes to power, the One series relies on a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P23 processor, backed up by 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage (for the Pro version).
The two models share the same rear-facing dual-camera setup that pairs a 12-megapixel main sensor (f/2.0) with a 5-megapixel one. The cameras are aligned vertically in the upper left corner in the vein of the iPhone X.
While UMIDIGI doesn’t mention anything about battery capacity, the company does reveal that the One supports 5V-2A fast charging. While the One Pro supports 18W fast charging.
The more advanced variant also includes 15W wireless fast charging and NFC function. So users can use it to make contactless mobile payments.
There’s no word on when we can expect the UMIDIGI One series to go on sale or how much they will cost. But given the specifications to expect them to be more affordable than the Z2 series.
At the moment, you can pick up the UMIDIGI Z2 from retailers like Banggood for $249.99. As for the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro, the flagship is yet to go on sale.
