ZipBuds PRO mic Earbuds review

I am very selective when it comes to earphones/earbuds. Over the past few years, I have tried Beats Audio, HTC, Apple, Sony, and few other brands; they all definitely have their own pros and cons, but recently I had a chance to use the ZipBuds PRO Mic. ZipBuds market their products with “Never Tangle Earphones & Headphones” slogan, and I have to say that they are really delivering it. The company was founded in San Diego, CA and it happened in 2010 when the founders of the company Robin DeFay and Justin Liu looked around the marketplace and asked themselves “What is the one thing that no one else is doing?” They noticed that most brands were coming out with different colors/patterns but true innovation was rare. So they decided to take the high road by introducing ‘tangle-free’ earphones.

Build Quality

These earphones are first of its kind, which makes it unique and also kind of fashionable. They come with zipper cabling, and you can zip and unzip them according to your preference. For example, if you want to put them in your pocket, you can zip them up and put them in your pocket. It is my personal experience that if you try to tangle them and put them inside your pocket, they will come out untangled.

The earbuds have a really strong feel to them, and the wire other than zipper is covered with nylon-like material, so it is all rough and tough. They also come with a ComfortFit2™ earbud shape, which means “angled for a secure and comfortable fit. Minimizes ear pressure and ensures optimal driver positioning.” And believe it or not, it actually works.

Performance

ZipBuds PRO Mic is different from other ZipBuds earphones because it has a noise canceling microphone as well, which means you can now receive hand-free calls and give commands as well. I was really impressed with noise cancelling quality of these earphones. They are good enough to make you feel like the only person in the world. I tried them in several situations like in the bus or in the cafeteria where there is a lot of noise, and they managed to pass all those tests. Not only do they never tangle, the earphones have an impressive audio quality, but the bass is not that excellent which was a little disappointing. However, it has a lot of pros that out shadows its cons. They will never tangle in your pocket and they will cancel the noise in such a way, you will feel like a live concert is going on inside your head. For $39.95, they are an excellent deal and as they also have a unique design, they will definitely make you stand out of the crowd.

Are they worth it?

Now the question if they are the right choice for you or not. If you are a music junkie who is used to headphones like BOSE and Sennheiser, you might not be totally satisfied with it, but then there is also the price factor. Any good BOSE or Sennheiser noise-cancelling earbuds will cost you easily above $100. Although, if you are really frustrated by how the headphones get tangled in your pocket, this is the ultimate solution. I also did a comparison of this with a Skullcandy and Apple EarPod, and the only problem ZipBuds had was relatively less bass, but the sound quality was amazing.
