New Years is right around the corner and many of you are starting to make resolutions either to lose weight or check off another item on your bucket list. In this case, the item on my bucket list is to take a trip to Las Vegas. Tripomatic wants to help me plan that trip. Can it help me with this often strenuous task?
Setup is pretty easy once the app is downloaded. To save any possible itineraries, it is always important to create a profile using Google or Facebook. This is where the fun begins. Once a city has been selected, the user is asked to fill in just a couple of things: dates of travel and destination. Not sure yet what dates you’re looking to travel? Not a problem. Tripomatic offers the opportunity to start planning away even while on the road.
Here are some things Tripomatic does well besides providing a detailed description of the attraction:
- Want more information on an attraction?  There is a link to the attraction’s website.
- Not only adding contact information (email, phone number, address), but providing a way to make contact right from the app.
- If I wanted to search for just malls, I can simply select the shopping link and all places related to shopping shows up in a list.
- Confirm hotel rooms, book tickets for activities, and reserve a car.
- Syncs well across devices and computers.
What Tripomatic DOES NOT DO:
- Purchase airline tickets.
One of the things I keep noticing about a lot of these customer service oriented apps is they do not let us have the opportunity to add a review. Is the attraction I want to pick worth my time or money? Sure I could visit Yelp or Google reviews. It is a minor inconvenience. However, for Tours & Activities and Hotels, there is a star rating system so at least it can help you decide. I also wish they would link this great service with GetMyBoat, an app that books water activities so that a person could truly have more choices whether by land or sea.
Overall, I really liked the app. Despite the little things here and there lacking, this app is useful when planning a trip, especially when planning a trip to a city I have never been to. No longer will I have to spend years trying to figure out where to go and what I need to do for fun. Tripomatic can definitely help! Great for anyone that is looking for spontaneous adventure! Hey Jeff, if you want to use that god-awful font on your phone that’s your own (bizarre) choice. But maybe turn if off if you’re taking screenshots of an app, yeah? It makes it look ridiculous.
