If you’re like me, you spend a lot of time on Reddit. Huge, copious, generally relationship-ending amounts of time. (I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my wife for not just marrying me, but also my Reddit addiction.) Now, let’s be honest with ourselves – fueling an addiction like the one that only Redditors can understand requires the right tool for the job, and folks, we have that tool – BaconReader for Android.

BaconReader is, by far, the easiest, most intuitive Reddit app around for Android. I’ve tried others, but none of the others come close.

All the necessities are there:

  • General feed
  • Inbox
  • Account management
  • Commenting
  • Built-in browser with smart image previewing
  • Widgets
  • Subreddit management
  • Search through both subreddits and general keywords

Browsing content is a snap, too. As you’re looking through stories, to the right of each title will be a small thumbnail preview for pictures, or a globe for other links / text. If you want to bypass the comments on a post, simply tap that icon on the right, and it will automatically open using BaconReader’s built-in browser. Having trouble viewing it, or want to get it in the browser to save? Want to share it? Change your mind, and now want to view the comments? Piece of cake – just tap the menu button, and all those choices are available to you.

If you’re looking for account information to keep up with karma, check your old posts, or look at your inbox, there’s options for that, too. From the feed, just tap the menu, and go to “Account”, and you’re checking your karma, and giving those other Redditors a piece of your mind.

Of course, what’s an app without widgets? BaconReader has ’em, both in a scrolling option, and a static, story-by-story rotating format. Which one you use is up to personal preference. Of course there’s a slew of options in the general settings – everything from choosing the color layout, to how to be notified, and what to be notified about.

There’s also the ability to create new posts, whether it be a picture, a link, or a self.reddit, you’ve got all the choices. BaconReader even adds an option for itself into your built-in Android share menu, making it easy to post that crazy link someone just emailed to you (people still do that… right?).

BaconReader comes in both a free, ad-supported version, as well as a paid version… and, at just $1.99 for premium, it’s well worth every penny… shoot, I’d even give them a solid $2. Be sure to hit them up at the download links below, and of course, let us know your thoughts in the comments. Go forth, fellow Redditors, and bring in some delicious karma! NOMNOMKARMANOM.

    • I just installed and then uninstalled after a few minutes. While it looks prettier than reddit is fun, reddit is fun is so much faster. Returning back to the main list after viewing a story was painfully slow. Almost like it wasn’t cached but rather requeried for results. Anyway, I’ll be sticking with reddit is fun.

      • If I’m not mistaken, it does refresh the front page, but only after a certain amount of time of being off of it (i.e. – looking at a story). However, the refreshes never took long for me at all.

        • hmmm. interesting. i am happy with the simplicity of reddit is fun so perhaps I didn’t evaluate it long enough but I did do a few side-by-side storypic loads and reddit is fun was much faster in my limited testing.

          • I much prefer reddit is fun over this one. But have recently switched to using Reddit Now. Developer was actively adding features and I really like the workflow of the app. Worth checking out.

  1. I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come
across a blog that’s equally educative and interesting, and without a
doubt, you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something that not enough men and women are
speaking intelligently about. Now i’m very happy I came
across this in my hunt for something relating to this.

  2. Check the percentage of emails that can actually reach
your intended recipients. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential
or current customer could be considered email marketing.
If you invented a product unexpectedly delightful to
    buyers, you’d make more, right.

  3. I’ve been surfing online greater than 3 hours these days, yet I never found any fascinating article like yours.

It is beautiful worth enough for me. In my view, if all webmasters
and bloggers made just right content as you did, the internet will likely be a lot more helpful than ever before.

  4. Hi there everyone, it’s my first go to see at this site, and paragraph
is actually fruitful in favor of me, keep up posting these articles.

  5. I don’t know if it’s just me or if perhaps
everybody else encountering issues with your site.

It appears as if some of the written text
in your posts are running off the screen. Can someone else please provide
feedback and let me know if this is happening to them as well?
This may be a problem with my internet browser because I’ve had this happen before.

  6. This experience is one that will never be forgotten, and for many children, even if at first they are apprehensive, it is a highlight.
Depending on your budget and requirement, you can plan your itinerary.
You can go to many outfitter websites to learn the nuts and bolts.

  7. Great site you have here but I was wanting to know if you knew of any forums that cover the same topics discussed in this article?
I’d really love to be a part of online community where I can get responses from other experienced
individuals that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

    Many thanks!

  8. Thanks for a marvelous posting! I actually enjoyed reading it, you happen to be a
great author.I will ensure that I bookmark your blog and will eventually come back later in life.
I want to encourage you to definitely continue your great job, have a nice holiday weekend!
