3 great replacement keyboard apps for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and S7

I’ve used a lot of smartphones. From Android to iOS, many smartphones have their own built in keyboard app with a range in quality and features. Samsung’s built in keyboard app, while highly functional with the always on number row, Emoticons, Handwriting input and other features that are nice to have, I find that I make the most errors with it. The keys are calibrated too closely for my liking and I am constantly making mistakes. Some of those mistakes are embarrassing as well.

The autocorrect function on the Samsung keyboard is certainly not one of my favorite, as it picks funky words sometimes. It also remembers everything I type to potentially save me time, but I’d prefer a keyboard that left much more of the display to see than bog it down with keyboard with excessive features.

If you’re like me and own a Galaxy device, fret not, there are plenty of third party keyboards that are free and can replace the stock keyboard on your smartphone.

The three favorite keyboard apps I use are free. If you don’t like them after giving them a try, just go to the app manager under settings and uninstall it to revert to the stock Samsung keyboard. And if you don’t like any of my choices, there is a large selection to try at the Google Play Store.

Otherwise, here are my three favorite keyboard apps:

Google Keyboard – Free at the Google Play Store

Google Keyboard makes typing fast and easy with gesture and voice. Glide through letters with Gesture Typing to enter words – just lift your finger to finish a word and gesture again, no spacebar required. Compose text on-the-go with Voice Typing. When you can’t find the right words, express yourself with hundreds of perfect emoji. Works on all your Android devices.

I’m a fan of clean and simple, and Google’s Keyboard is my favorite of the bunch. When I set up a new phone, which is quite often, this is the first app I install. I am comfortable with it and it makes far fewer mistakes than other keyboards I use.

SwiftKey Keyboard – Free at the Google Play Store

Join over 250 million people worldwide who use SwiftKey Keyboard for hassle-free typing.

SwiftKey Keyboard uses Artificial Intelligence to automatically learn your writing style, including the emoji you love to use (if you use emoji), the words that matter to you and how you like to type. That means autocorrect and predictive text that actually works because it adapts to you.

SwiftKey Keyboard caters for all typing tastes – all colors, designs and themes. Support for 100+ languages. Tapping or swipe-to-type. Tons of emoji (smileys, emoticons). No emoji. Or emoji keyboard predictions learned from how you’ve used emoji before.

SwiftKey is one of the most popular and widely used keyboards as it was one of the first to make typing easy and error free. What’s cool about SwiftKey is you can retheme it to look just about any way you want. SwiftKey also learns your favorite words and emojis and pushes them to the front to make typing even faster.
