If you’re like us, email is a staple in our work day, and many of us have more than one email address. Lucky for you, Android allows an easy way to sync multiple email accounts on your phone. Here are all the steps you’ll need to take in order to successfully add an email account.
First, head to the Settings menu. Scroll down until you see a tab called Accounts. Filed under this tab, you should see an option to “Add account”. Once you find it, click it!
Now you’ll need to figure out what type of account you’d like to add. Is it a Gmail account? Click Google. Is it a Facebook account? Click the Facebook tab. In this case, we’ll be adding a Gmail account to our phone.
You’ll be presented with a screen to either add an existing or new account. We already have ours set up, so we’ll click “Existing”. Here is where you will sign in. enter your full email address, then enter your password. Click the right-facing arrow towards the bottom, and it will begin signing in for you.
Next it will ask you to enroll in some of Google’s services. If you don’t wish to sign in to Google+ or set up a Google Wallet card, feel free to click “Not Now” for each screen.
You should then arrive at a page that reads “Account sign-in successful”. You have the option to sync all of your app data or just a select few. For ease of use, we’d suggest syncing all of them. Nothing will hurt you or do something bad to your phone. But if you find that you don’t want your calendar synced with this email account, feel free to uncheck it.
After you press the right arrow, you’re done! Just to make sure you’re all set, head over to either the Gmail app or the stock email app and see your new email account. From here, you can access settings unique to this email address. You have the option to change notifications, set a personal signature, or change syncing options.
