Changing your wallpaper is perhaps the easiest way to customize your Android device. It adds character and a bit of flair to your homescreen, without changing things around too much. Wondering exactly how to swap your wallpaper for something different? Here’s our guide on how to change your wallpaper.
KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less. At AndroidGuys, we will do our best to walk you through each task as well as we can.
Method 1: From your home screen
This is the method that changes by device. If you are having trouble, skip to Method 2.
Long press an empty spot on your home screen (an area that doesn’t have any apps or widgets). A menu will pop up that will most likely read “Choose wallpaper from”. For the sake of this example, choose Gallery. You can then choose the photo you’d like to set. It will prompt you to move around the photo for proper placement for your wallpaper. After you have the perfect placement, choose Save. Your wallpaper should be set!
If you’d like to set one of the pre-loaded photos as your wallpaper, long press on your home screen and choose “Wallpapers” this time. A horizontal row of photos will pop up, and you can navigate through them by swiping left and right. Choose the one you’d like, and press the “Set wallpaper” button. Your wallpaper should be set!
Method 2: From your gallery
Navigate to your gallery app, and click on the picture you’d like to set as your wallpaper. Once there, choose the menu key (three vertical dots in the corner). You’ll see an option to “set picture as”. Choose that, and click “wallpaper”. It may prompt you to either set it as your lock screen or home screen wallpaper. Choose whichever one you’d prefer.
It may give you the option to crop or move the picture to fit your screen. Once you have the placement down, click Okay and you’re all done! Your wallpaper should be set.
