The Google Play Store contains over two million apps. That’s an insane amount of apps to sort through and can be difficult to find what is best for you searching through your small display on your smartphone.
Sometimes search is just easier from a desktop or laptop computer. The Google Play Store is not only available on your smartphones and tablets through the Google Play Store app, but it is also available on the web. The Google Play Store differs from the Apple App Store where users do not need to install an application on their computers to access the selection of apps, music, and videos.
While many of you long time Android users already know this feature, there are many people like my mother who don’t know you can install apps on your smartphones and tablets from the web.
All you have to do is head over to the Google Play Store from your computer, search for the content you want, whether it’s a movie or app, and tap install.
If you have more than one Android device, it will give you a drop down menu of which device to install it on. Simply select which device you want to use, and click install. Keep in mind you do need to sign into the store with your Google account.
Instead of walking my mom through app installations, or sharing a link with her, I simply log into her account and install the app of her choice on her device. Some of you are in the same boat as me where it might be easier to get your trusted ones passwords and logins, and simply help them manage their devices remotely.
It’s also much easier to search for apps on the web so check it out if you haven’t already.
