Sony Ericsson Announces X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro

Yesterday, Sony Ericsson officially announced their Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro handsets.  Both are smaller versions of their forthcoming Xperia X10 and are powered by Android 1.5 and a 600MHz processor.  Although are slower than the Xperia X10, they're still slightly faster than the first generation of Android handsets.  Other specs include a 2.5-inch touch screens and a 5.0-megapixel camera.  The two handsets are identical save for the slide-out QWERTY found in the pro version.

Look for the X10 mini in select sometime in the next quarter.  The mini will be available in black, red, pearl white, lime, and silver while the mini pro will come in black and red.  Could these be the first female-friendly designs for an Android handset?

    Business is local, and where I live, Mini and Mini Pro (with the right pricing and marketing) will be what makes Android take off (as well as being a healthy face lift for the SE range of mostly dull feature phones). I might even consider replacing my Dream with a Mini Pro :)

    Totally agree... while 2.5" is a little small, it's certainly more mobile! Will be looking at a possible replacement for the G1, when I change (after the actual X10 is realised, then decide between X10, N1, Milestone or new HTC device)
