Rumor: Next Iteration of Android To be Honeycomb

As we’ve mentioned over the past few weeks on our podcasts, we are now hearing from other sources that the next iteration of Android after Gingerbread will be called Honeycomb. The latest report comes from industry publication TechRadar UK. In keeping with the sweets-themed naming conventions, this OS will follow Cupcake, Eclair, Froyo and Gingerbread.  I for one hope it will be as sweet as honey. Hit the jump for more! These same “sources” are also saying that this is likely to be nothing major, possibly a version 3.1 or 3.2, kind of like Froyo was to Eclair.  However, despite this, that doesn’t mean it’s not something to get excited about. I already can’t wait and we’ve not even had Gingerbread yet!

Before I end, I would like to let everyone know that we are dealing with just a rumor at this point, with few hard details.  Nothing yet should be taken 100% as things may change in the coming months.  Despite this, I am stil excited!

Anyone else looking forward to some honeycomb possibly?

I always find it strange when people comment on their apathy.

We just got Froyo, Gingerbread is months away… Are we going to start talking about another update when Gingerbread isn’t even out?

Wow, Froyo is barely out on a few devices, Gingerbread is a long ways away, and you’re jizzing your pants about Honeycomb? Get it together dude. You’re making me embarrassed to be an Android Guy.

Guess I’m about to stop reading android news after Google bedded VZ and announced they were ok with the end of the internet last week. Call it dramatic, but if the openness of the internet ends with wireless, the investment will be in wireless, and the wired internet will deteriorate, making neither place anywhere you’d want to spend time.

If you’re running this blog, no matter what you make in PPC ads, you’ve still gotta think..my…wonder how bad that would be for my tiny site, no?

Think, fool, THINK! Google made a cool OS, they’ve got useful, well-designed software. Doesn’t mean they’re above reproachment for their corruption.
