T-Mobile and Samsung issued a press release announcing the Galaxy S 4G, said to be the fastest smartphone on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network and capable of delivering theoretical peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps. It was T-Mobile’s first smartphone to hit those speeds.
The press release offered little beyond the announcement itself. The Galaxy S 4G was set to arrive in the coming weeks, with more details forthcoming. Powered by Android 2.2, it featured a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and was positioned as a premium entertainment device on T-Mobile’s growing 4G network.
