HTC’s first Beats Audio phone, the Sensation XE, featured the same design as the original Sensation with upgrades under the hood. Key specs: a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1730mAh battery, Beats Audio integration, a 4.3-inch 540×960 capacitive display, 11.3mm thick and 151g, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash and 1080p video, a front-facing VGA camera, 768MB RAM, 1GB internal storage expandable to 32GB via microSD (8GB or 16GB card bundled), 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, DLNA, and aGPS.
The capacitive buttons, camera ring, and earpiece were finished in red, and a Beats Audio logo appeared on the back. The phone came with exclusive Beats by Dr. Dre earbuds and Beats Audio software. Clove UK planned to launch it October 7 at approximately £410 (around $640 at the time), with other European markets, plus the Middle East, Africa, and Asia to follow.
