Verizon announced the Samsung Illusion for November 23rd as an online exclusive at $79.99 with a two-year agreement. From November 24th through 28th, it was available free with a qualified two-year agreement as a Black Friday promotion. In-store availability would follow in January 2012.
Specs included Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, a 3.5-inch TFT HVGA curved glass display, a 3-megapixel camera without flash, Swype text input, Mobile Hotspot for up to five devices, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, a 6-axis accelerometer with compass, and a 2GB microSD card (expandable to 32GB). The Illusion also carried a UL Platinum environmental rating with rear casing made from 70% post-consumer recycled material.
