LG announced the Optimus G, their new flagship smartphone built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro, the first quad-core LTE processor available in a commercial smartphone. Launched in Korea in September, with global markets including the US to follow.
Key specs: a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) with Adreno 320 GPU, 4G LTE, a 4.7-inch 1280×768 True HD IPS+ display at 320ppi with Stripe RGB panel and G2 Touch Hybrid Display (thinner, more scratch resistant, no diffused reflection), 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, a 2100mAh battery, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA, MHL, 8.45mm thin at 145g.
Software features included Live Zooming (zoom during video playback), Dual Screen Dual Play (mirror or display different content on phone and TV simultaneously), QMemo (write or draw directly on a captured screen), Time Catch Shot (select the best image from frames captured just before the shutter), and Cheese Shutter (voice-activated photo capture).
